Safeguarding

At All Saints' Springfield we want to safeguard the health and wellbeing of all those who are involved in any way in the life of the church.

We have adopted the Church of England’s Safeguarding Policies and Practice Guidance for safeguarding children, young people and adults.

If you have any safeguarding concerns, please talk in confidence to one or more of these people:

There is more information about the church's approach to safeguarding on the Church of England website and the Diocese of Chelmsford website.

Safeguarding training

Four online training courses are available:

  • Basic Awareness - for everyone who needs a basic awareness of safeguarding issues or who would like to improve their knowledge and understanding.
  • Foundation - for those in roles which have a responsibility for safeguarding others within church settings.
  • Raising Awareness of Domestic Abuse - for those needing an understanding of the nature and dynamics of domestic abuse to help them in their roles.
  • Safer Recruitment and People Management - for all those who may be involved in the recruitment, selection and management of staff or volunteers.

If you are interested in doing any of these courses, see our online safeguarding training guide. For further information or help, please email Bex, our Parish Administrator.

DBS checks

For some roles working with children or adults a DBS check by the Disclosure & Barring Service is required. This applies to voluntary as well as paid positions in churches just like other organisations.

For information or help with DBS checks, please email Bex, our Parish Administrator.
